Kids Wake-Up Clock runs on your own device: no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking.

Two features do connect to the outside world, and only when you use them yourself: pairing a parent phone, and searching online for a wake-up sound. What happens then is set out in Connections to third parties.

1. What data does the app process?

2. Permissions

Notifications are optional and only used for local alerts. The camera is used solely to scan the pairing QR code when you tap "pair" yourself; no image is stored or sent. Microphone and location are not used.

3. Connections to third parties

The app works without internet by default. Two features do make a connection, and both only when you use them yourself.

  • Pairing a parent phone (Google Firebase). Only after you create a pairing code and scan it. What is stored: the clock's settings, randomly generated device IDs, and the names you type yourself. If you enter your child's name there, that name sits with Google. No account is needed; the app signs in anonymously.
  • Searching for sounds (Freesound). Only when a parent taps "Search online" in settings. A fixed search term for the chosen category is sent, and nothing about you or your child. A chosen sound is downloaded and kept on the device, so the alarm keeps working offline. Origin and licence of every downloaded sound are shown in the app under Settings → Sound credits.

Beyond that the app sends nothing. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.

4. Security

Everything is kept in the app’s private storage, where other apps cannot reach it. The app’s internal database is encrypted; the key is generated on the device itself and kept in the operating system’s secure key store (Keychain on iOS and iPadOS, Keystore on Android). Settings such as times, colors and sounds are kept in ordinary app storage. Without being able to unlock the device, nobody can reach this data.

5. Your rights

If you use the app without pairing, everything stays on your own device and you remove it by deleting the app. If you have paired, you can unpair in the app; to have the associated data erased on our side, send us an email. You have the right to access, correct and erase your data.

7. Website cookies and analytics

On this website, Google Analytics 4 is only enabled after your consent via the cookie banner.

  • Used to understand page visits and improve the website.
  • No ad profiles or personalized advertising signals are used.
  • You can update your choice anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
